HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Adriana Sananes, shown at right, and Kate Del Castillo star in "Celestial Blood" and "Sangre celestial",  a podcast of a radionovela (done in English and Spanish), produced by KCRW in Los Angeles, California. The radionovela, with eight episodes each, are written by Mariana Carreño King and Inda Craig-Galván and directed by Gisele Regatao. The cast also features José Antonio Melián, Jacqueline Guillén, and Reza Salazar. To listen to the radionovela, click here (for the English version) and/or here (for the Spanish version).

Alicia Kaplan was featured in an article in the New York weekly newspaper Impacto Latin News where she was one of three women honored by the Latin American Cultural Center of Queens with the Concepción Arenal Ponte Award to commemorate Women's History Month. She was honored on account of her work as an actress-writer-director-producer. The event took place in March at P.S. 222Q in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens. Pablo García Gámez and A.B. Lugoshown left to right in image at right, were featured in El Blog de Pablo, as a result of the former's two-hander La vieja heridabeing directed by the latter, to be presented as part of the FuerzaFest Latino LGBTQ+Festival (presented by the Hispanic Federation). The play, produced by Álex Vásquez Escaño of Teátrica (and featuring assistant direction by Laura Petit), stars Fabián González and Miguel Flores and will take place in May at the Julia de Burgos Cultural Center in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood. Mayté Hernández and Luis Alberto Garcíashown left to right in image at left, was featured in El Blog de Pablo, as a result of their co-starring roles in the Group of the Arts (GOTA) production Otra historia. Written by Pedro Monge Rafuls, the play is being directed by J. Edgar Mozoub and presented in May as part of the FuerzaFest Latino LGBTQ+ festival at the Julia De Burgos Cultural Center, located in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood. To read the article, click here.

Lucio Fernández, shown at right, was featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written and edited by Héctor Luis Rivera) where he was highlighted for his upcoming performance as one of the performers with the Latin music band Máxima Alerta on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the world famous S.O.B.'s, located in Manhattan's West Village. The band's music is a fusion of languages (Spanish/English) and musical styles, including salsa, timba, merengue, cumbia, conga and reggaetón. For more information on the event, including how to buy tickets, click here.
