HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Pablo Andrade, Raúl Rivera, and Pablo García Gámez, shown clockwise from top left, were featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written and edited by Héctor Luis Rivera) for each of their current and/or upcoming projects. Andrade was noted for teaching (with María Fontanals) the first Spanish-language acting class at HB Studio in New York; Rivera was lauded for the creation of his new theater company, Coquí Theater; García Gámez was recently designated as a delegate of the Centro Latinoamericano de Creación e Investigación Teatral (CELCIT) in New York City. Alberto Bonilla will be directing William Shakespeare's King Lear. The production, which will star Austin Pendleton and Richard Mazda, will run in March and April at The Secret Theatre, in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens. For more information, click here.

Andrea Navedo, shown at left, was interviewed by Latina magazine, where she spoke about her life, career and her role as Xiomara "Xo" Villanueva on the award-winning, critically acclaimed hit series "Jane The Virgin" (The CW). To read the interview, click here.

Joseph Meléndez co-starred in the feature film Akron (written by Brian O'Donnell and directed by Sasha King and O'Donnell). The film was just released on video in the U.S. and Canada via Wolfe Video. It will be available on DVD, VOD and across all digital platforms, including iTunes, Vimeo on Demand and Wolfe on Demand. For more information on the film, click here.
