HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Andrea Navedo, shown at right, has announced that she will be voicing one of the characters in the new Disney Channel animated series "Elena of Avalor". To see a trailer for the upcoming series, which features the first Latina Disney heroine, click here.

Erick Betancourt will be playing Prince Escalus in the Trinity Rep production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (directed by Tyler Dobrowsky), where he will also be teaching members of the theater company's YASI youth ensemble. The 
a free, bilingual, family-friendly production will take place in July and August at Trinity Repertory Company (for select performances) and outdoors in parks in Providence, Rhode Island. For more information, click here.

Teatro Experimental Blue Amigos (TEBA) is presenting 3 veces De Grandy. An evening of three short plays written by award-winning playwright and actress Julie De Grandy, the production will be directed by Héctor Luis Rivera and presented in June at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. The show features the talents of Yvette QuinteroKathy Tejada, Fernando Vieira, Alejandro Martínez, and Leonel Carrasco.
