HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Susan Rybin, shown at right, in character, was the subject of an article in Latin Business Today, where she talked of her upcoming solo show Kahlo: más allá de Frida. An adaptation of the Humberto Robles monologue Frida: Viva la vida, the show is directed by Walter Ventosilla and will be presented again (due to popular demand) in May at Repertorio Español, located in the Rose Hill neighborhood of Manhattan. Teresa Yenque recently filmed a comedy sketch for the television show "Inside Amy Schumer" (Comedy Central).

Julio Ortega, shown at leftwill receive the Radio y TV LAZ Award on Friday, May 13, 2016 for his work in the Latino arts community. For more information, click here.

David Ponce is co-starring in the award-winning production of the Nicolás Dorr play Las pericas. Produced by Havanafama Theatrical Company and directed by Juan Roca, the play will be presented in June as part of the sixth annual Festival Lincoln Park de la Fundación Bilingüe de las Artes (Bilingual Foundation of the Arts Lincoln Park Theatre Festival), for the BFA International Theatre Festival at the Plaza de La Raza in Los Angeles, California. The Víctor Cruz feature film The Stockroom (co-starring Liza Colón-Zayas and co-produced by Elaine Del Valle) will be screened on Friday, May 6, 2016
