HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Edna Lee Figueroa, shown at right, in character, was featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (edited by Héctor Luis Riveraalso see below), where her role as actress, co-director, and co-producer in the two-hander Santa Bárbara es una femme fatale was highlighted. Written by Mariana Monclova and Camila Monclova, it will be produced and directed by Figueroa and Edmi De Jesús (who also co-stars) for Producciones El Barrio, and will have its NYC premiere in April as part of the first annual Festival de Comedias TEBA, presented by the Teatro Experimental Blue Amigos at the Broadway Blackbox Theater in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Barby Ganesh, shown at left, was also featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (edited by Héctor Luis Rivera, also see above), where her role as actress in the solo show Qué BárbaraWritten and directed by Yoshvani Medina, it will be produced by ArtSpoken, and will have its NYC premiere in April as part of the first annual Festival de Comedias TEBA, presented by the Teatro Experimental Blue Amigos at the Broadway Blackbox Theater in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Gus J. Benedicto plays the recurring role as Hal in "The Mysteries of Laura" (NBC).

David Ponce will reprise his award-nominated performance opposite Vivian Morales in the ArtSpoken production of Virgilio Piñera's Dos viejos pánicos (directed by Juan Roca). The production, which originated in Miami, will play New York in April as part of the II Semana Teatral de Miami en Off-Broadway festival at the Thalía Spanish Theatre (in the Sunnyside area of Queens).
