HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Modesto Jiménez, shown at right, will be starring opposite 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Mathia Vargas and 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Sully Bonnelly in the Teátrica/The Brooklyn Gypsies remounting of the production Yoleros. Written by Álex Vásquez Escaño and directed by Martín Balmaceda, the show is being presented in December at The Bushwick Starr, located in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighborhood. Susan Rybin will be performing in Kahlo. An adaptation of the Humberto Robles monologue Frida: Viva la vida, the solo show is directed by Walter Ventosilla and be presented in December at the Producers Club Theaters, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. Mariana Parma, shown at left, will be performing at the Shall We Tango NYC festival. Presented by the Pan-American Musical Art Research (PAMAR), the gala tango show and milonga will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Flamboyán Theater in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. Gilbert Cruz booked a print ad for Novartis Entresto.


Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja) will be performing on Saturday, November 21, at the Pillsbury House Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as part of the theater's Late Nite Series. For more information, click here.


Wilfredo Roldán booked a role in an as-yet-untitled pilot.


Luis Salgado, shown at right, can be seen dancing on ABC's "Good Morning America" with the rest of the company of the Broadway musical On Your Feet! (book by 2015 HOLA Awards honoree Alexander Dinelaris and featuring the music of Emilio and Gloria Estefan; directed by Jerry Mitchell and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo), of which he is a cast member. The show is currently playing at Broadway's Marquis Theatre.
