HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Marlene Forté, shown at right, will be returning to the boards to star in the play Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles. An adaptation of Euripides' Medea by Luis Alfaro, the play is being directed by Jessica Kubzansky and will run in September and October at the Barbara and Lawrence Fleischman Outdoor Theater at the Getty Villa, located in Malibu, California. For more information, click here. She can also be seen in the series regular role of Elena Gutiérrez in the ABC Family show "The Fosters".

Monte Bezell, A.B. Lugo and Athena Alexis star in the short film The Devil's Breath/El soplo del diablo (written and directed by Julián Juaquín), which is set to hit the film festival circuit. For more information, click here.

Rigoberto García, shown at left, has been busy as of late. He can be seen on stage in the play Diversions. Directed by Hayes Biche, it will be presented as part of A Midsummer Night's Madness, a series of short comedies written by Christopher Durang. Presented by the Chelsea Rep Lab, it will have performances in August at Shetler Theatre 54, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. For more information, click here. In addition, he has booked a co-starring role in the Comedy Central television series "The Jim Gaffigan Show", and roles in the films The Lucky Ones (written and directed by Stephen Petrillo), Frankenstein: Heart of a Champion (written by Aaron J. Shelton and Andy Westfall and directed by Mark Yancey), Samaria (written and directed by Kiel Adrian Scott), and the upcoming Weiner-Dog (written and directed by Todd Solondz).

Jason Torres stars in the short film Let Me (written by Rob Correa and directed by Richard N. Wilson and Eliza Brown). The film is expected to hit the film festival circuit.
