HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Mario Golden and Yvette Quinteroshown above, from left to right, were profiled in an article (written by Carlos Navedo) in the New York City weekly newspaper Impacto Latin News for their work in the upcoming production of El canto de Carlota (Charlotte's Song). Written by Nancy Ferragallo, the dance-theater piece is directed by Andreas Robertz and Golden, choreographed by Ferragallo and Celeste Hastings. This will be the piece's Spanish-language world premiere, and it will have a one-evening benefit performance for the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Flamboyán Theater in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. Moisés Acevedo can be seen in the recurring role of Santino in the Netflix series "Daredevil", which is currently for streaming online.

Fernando Campos of the New York City weekly newspaper Impacto Latin News wrote a wrap-up article of the recent 47th Annual Latin ACE Awards (presented by the Asociación de Cronistas de Espectáculos de Nueva York), which took place at the Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Center, located in the Lincoln Square area of Manhattan's West Side. HOLA members and Friends of HOLA mentioned in the article include Pablo Andrade, Iván L. Argudo, Miriam Colón-Valle, Caridad del Valle, Pablo García Gámez, Enmanuel García Villavicencio, Mateo Gómez, Gerardo Gudiño, Sandor Juan, A.B. Lugo, Manuel A. Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Brujashown at right, was interviewed on the podcast "The Translators", hosted by Michael "Juan Bago" Díaz and Jaime Fernández, where she spoke of his life and career as an actress, poet, singer, hip hop artist, writer, host, and all-around performer as well as her latest projects– most notably, the musical Betsy! (conceived and developed by Ron Short, Dudley Cocke, Beegie Adair, Rosalba Rolón and Desmar Guevara and directed by Rolón; scheduled to take place in April at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan).
