HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Héctor Luis Rivera, shown at right, has, based on the success of his online chat, gossip and arts and entertainment news show "Héctor Luis Sin Censura" (and its Facebook and Twitter pages), launched its companion website. Judy Torres will be performing live on a double bill with Coro, as both will sing their hits at the Battleground Country Club in Manalapan, New Jersey on February 20, 2015. For more information, click here.

Víctor Cruz, shown at left, has been quite busy as of late. In addition to his recurring roles on both "Gotham" (Fox) and "Blue Bloods" (CBS), he guest-starred on the upcoming TNT television series "Public Morals" (created by Ed Burns); and acted in the films The Humbling (written by Buck Henry and Michael Zebede, based on the Philip Roth novel; directed by Barry Levinson), where he stars opposite Al Pacino, Greta Gerwig, Dianne Wiest and Kyra Sedgwick; and Two-Night Stand (written by Mark Hammer and directed by Max Nichols), where he co-stars opposite Analeigh Tipton and Max Teller. Finally, the feature film he wrote and directed (and in which he stars), The Stockroom (which is co-produced by Elaine Del Valle), is in post-production.

Pablo García Gámez, shown at right, is having two of his plays published. The first, Oscuro, de noche, was published in the anthology Palabras acentuadas (edited by Juan Navidad for La Ovejita eBooks), where his play was published alongside works by José M. de la Rosa, Claudio Marte and Álex Vásquez Escaño. For more information, click here and here. To buy the anthology, click here. The second, Noche tan linda (which won several 2014 HOLA Awards), will be published in the late 2015 edition of Conjunto, the magazine of the Casa de las Américas, which is based in Havana, Cuba. For more information, click here. To read his reflections and speculations on the Hispanic theater scene in New York, check out El Blog de Pablo (note that the blog is in Spanish) by clicking here.

Solanyi Rodríguez is co-starring in the film Skirting The Issues (written by Franc. Reyes, directed by Carlos Berríos and produced by Ulysses Terrero). The film will be screened in February at the Viva! Latino Film Festival International, at the Anthology Film Archives, located in Manhattan's East Village. For more information, click here.
