HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Modesto Lacén, shown at right, was the spotlight of an article in Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Día, where he spoke on his role as Jastón in Marco Antonio Rodríguez's new play Barceló con hielo (which also stars Javier Fano) currently playing at Repertorio Español (located in Manhattan's Rose Hill neighborhood). Joel Pérez is starring in The Mapmaker's Opera (book and lyrics by Victor Kazan and music by Kevin Powell). Directed by Donald Brenner, the musical is being presented in July at the PTC Performance Space (located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan as part of the New York Musical Theater Festival (NYMF). A.B. Lugo, shown at left, appeared on Broadway World in a Photo Flash article highlighting the Barefoot Theater Company's 15th Anniversary Gala and Vassallo Awards ceremony. To see the article, click here.

Matt Antar will be performing with his duo Mantar and Bantar (comprising of him and his brother Ben Antar) on Sunday, June 29, 2014 as part of UP Theater Company's Uptown Arts Stroll at Upstart (located in Manhattan's Inwood area). For more information, click here.
