HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Doris Lola Mártir, shown at right, will play Madame Lucía in The Heights Players production of West Side Story. Written by Leonard Bernstein (music), Arthur Laurents (book) and Stephen Sondheim (lyrics) and directed by Thomas N. Tyler, the musical will have a May run in The Heights Players Theater located in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. For more information about the production, click here or here.

Edvin Ortega can be seen guest-starring in an episode of "Blue Bloods" (CBS).

Laura Patalano and Harmony Rose Santana star in You're Dead To Me (written by Adelina Anthony and directed by Wu Tsang). The short film has been hitting the film festival circuit; its next screening will be in May at the Inside Out LGBT Festival in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Steve Vega-helmed film short On The Run will be screened on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at The DL, located in Manhattan's Loísaida's neighborhood. The film stars Vega, Giovanni Olivera, Keke Lebrón, Félix Hiciano and Sabrina Sangiacomo. For more information, click here.

Víctor Cruz can be seen guest-starring in an episode of "The Blacklist" (NBC).

An article written by Ángel Fajardo was published in the Los Angeles-based Brooklyn & Boyle newspaper (Volume 2, Issue 1). The article, called "Remembering Phillip Seymour Hoffman", is a tribute to the late Academy Award-winning actor-director. Gladys K. Nilsen is Miss Hawaiʻi Senior America 2014. She will represent The Aloha State in the Miss Senior America pageant, scheduled to take place October 28-30, 2014 at Resorts in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
