HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Javier Fano, shown at right, booked a role in Marco Antonio Rodríguez's Barceló con hielo. Directed by José Zayas, the play's cast also includes Modesto Lacén and Rodríguez and will have its world premiere in June at Repertorio Español (located in Manhattan's Rose Hill neighborhood). Fano booked the role after the production team saw his headshot on HOLA's online directory of talent and called him in to audition. For more information on the production, click here or here.

Laura Riveros will be performing in Swell. The play is based on the graphic novel by Juliacks, who partially co-adapted it with Kathleen Amshoff and Sam Creely. Directed by Amshoff, the production will have a New York premiere in June as part of The Comic Book Theater Festival, taking place at The Brick Theater, located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. Roger González will act in an episode of "Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall" (Investigation Discovery).

Edvin Ortega can be seen in The Coffee Shop. The film, directed by Jana "AJ" Mattioli, will have a screening in The West End Lounge (located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan) on Friday, May 23, 2014. For more information, click here.
