LA LAUREN IS LA LUPE

Lauren Vélez in character as La Lupe in her solo show
They Call Me La Lupe, soon to be a major motion picture.
Lauren Vélez (of Showtime's "Dexter" fame) is set to play famed Cuban singer La Lupe (née Guadalupe Victoria Yolí Raymond) in the biopic They Call Me La Lupe. The film is based on the solo show she performed last year (and for which she won an HOLA Award). She is using crowdraising platform Kickstarter to pay for pre-production costs. Amazing award winning actress Lauren Velez has asked me to reach out to talk about this fund raising for her film project "La Lupe". In the past couple of years Lauren has been periodically doing a one woman show called "La Lupe" to rave reviews. She has always felt that a film could be develop from this project and many including me believe it to be true. She has great support and commitments from many in the industry but as we all know when it's a Latino story the corporate film companies have no vision and don't want to take the chance on these projects. Her team is on board and committed to this project and many of them as you will see are major players in the industry.

Here is your opportunity to tangibly support the making of this film and prove the film corporations wrong. La Lupe is an iconic Latina in all of the Latin community because Latinos love of music is such a strong bond that has no borders. I am asking you to to take a moment check out "La Lupe", the film website and trailer and support Lauren and the film makers that are already on board to get this film made. We must support the telling of our stories and our culture and support the effort of an amazing actress like Lauren who is a great representative of great body of work in the industry.
